One For All
A downloadable game
One For All is a compact tabletop game for giant tables. It’s quick to learn, easy to play, and has no maximum group size. It is designed for and tested with children ages 6-14, letting them experience the beating heart of role-playing games in a large group: storytelling, collaboration, dynamic accomplishment, and rolling dice.
The game works as a framework that can be grafted onto different genres and adventures to create unique stories that excite your special set of players. My hope is that this simple system will provide a jumping-off point for new and veteran Game Masters excited to introduce children (and maybe themselves) to the fantastic and life-changing power of roleplaying games, especially those who find themselves outnumbered 10:1 or worse.
As far as I know, this is a unique system of play, but it was heavily inspired by the work of Grant Howitt, a master of minimalism. Nobody can do more with less, though I’ve certainly given it my all here.
It represents about 3.5 years of testing and play with dozens of groups. I hope you all have as much fun with it as I have.
